TRILUNA's supper club series this month will be AN INTERACTIVE EXPERIENCE all about understanding the difference between optical allyship and acting in solidarity for racial justice so that we can spend less time on Instagram and more time creating actionable change for a better present and future.
Get ready for an incredible meal from Chef Cleveland of “The Lost Spoon” serving some of his favorite dishes as we journey through this interactive experience.
This will be an INTERACTIVE walking supper club. So we anticipated that you might have some questions. We have attempted proactively answer your questions below!
"What does that mean," you ask?
It means you will walk through an experience designed to help you understand the impact of white supremacy culture, through to an understanding of performative behavior, and finally to a call to action all while building camaraderie with your small group.
"Will I get enough food," you ask?
Chef Cleveland of "The Lost Spoon" would never leave you hanging. He will feed you well while you learn and grow.
"Will there be drinks," you ask?
Of course, there will be drinks.
"What precautions will you take against the coronavirus," you ask?
To make this event as safe as possible we will be splitting this event up into very small groups of 5 (with only 25 available total). Together with a guide, you will be led through the event together, masks on most of the time, plenty of sanitization stations.
"How long is this event," you ask?
Your total experience will be 2 hours long.
"Can you tell me more about what we will be doing once we get there," you ask?
No. We want you to come open and vulnerable and we want you to be surprised and delighted as well as informed when you leave.
"Are there agreements we must make before we come," you ask?
What an insightful question, future guest! Yes, there are. They are as follows:
1. Come ready to engage and learn with an open mind.
2. Leave your ego at the door, if someone calls you on something don’t take it personally. Learn from it.
3. Bring your phones, you will need them for some things. But keep them in your bag unless you’re at a station that requires them.
4. Exchange some form of communication with your group. You can decide what form that will take for your group: email, slack, snail mail, text. The form doesn’t matter but commit to continuous learning with your new group.
5. ARRIVE ON TIME. Do not be late. This event must start exactly on time. If you are going to be late we will have to move you to a later group if one is available.
6. Wear your mask when moving through the space.
This evening will be honest, raw, emotional, and transformative.
See you soon!

About The Chef: Cleveland Shearls of The Lost Spoon!
Cleveland Shearls has become a recognizable Chef in the Southeast region. The charismatic chef has cooked for some notable NFL players such as Chris Hope, Cody Sensabaugh, & Cary Williams just to name a few. He also has the distinct pleasure to cater for some of Nashville’s most prominent citizens.
Additionally, Chef Cleveland has also had the pleasure of serving Bishop Joseph W. Walker III, Pastor of Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Nashville, TN, and Presiding Bishop of Full Gospel Baptist Church International.
In addition to his catering, meal prep, and personal chef services, Chef Cleveland is very passionate about feeding the homeless and needy throughout Nashville. He is currently working to starting his own foundation called FEED THE CORNER. This foundation will help the homeless, elderly and families that struggle with putting food on the table daily.
Cleveland showed interest in cooking at an early age. He would always shadow his grandmother (Mildred) and Mother (Lannie) in the kitchen every since he was a young child. He did not accept his calling until his senior year at The University Alabama A&M in Huntsville, AL. After hosting several parties and simply making a full meal from a little of nothing for friends and himself, Cleveland could not deny that God was calling him to his purpose in the Culinary Arts world. He enrolled at The International Culinary School at The Art Institute Nashville, TN and begin his journey into understanding all aspects of food.
Upon graduating Cleveland became known for being one of very few to enter the industry straight out of culinary school as a Sous Chef. He has worked under some well-known chefs in Nashville at the Heritage at Brentwood, The Fontanel Mansion, and helped to set the foundation for City Winery as it broke ground in Nashville. Cleveland had already started catering small events during his time at The City Winery when he realized it was time for him to step out on faith. The Lost Spoon launched in 2014. Chef Cleveland currently resides in Nashville where you will find him spending most of his time enjoying life with his family or fishing when he is not working.
